What is the origin of the phrase x-mas?

I would like to know why Christmas has become x-mas. Is that due to the non-Christian folks out there who still like celebrating the holiday? Please, only serious answers.

Does it make you mad when you see X-mas instead of Christmas?

I’m most definitely not a religious fanatic nor am I a traditional Christian. I seldom go to Church. Matter of fact most Christians disagree with what I believe. I think the Trinity was made up to get around the 1st Commandment and the Rapture to scare people into believing. I’m against organized prayer in schools but do like to see School Christmas Programs and a 30 sec. prayer before a Football game is okay. I believe the Ten Commandments should be in Churches and homes and not in public courthouses but God should be left in the Pledge. I do not discriminate against people of other religions, athiest, or agnostics and I give them the respect they deserve. I myself have mixed feeling about the status of Christ. But when I see X-mas instead of Christmas, I feel bad inside. Although I know the holiday was originally of pagan origin in ancient times, it is now modern times and it is Christmas! Leave Christ in Christmas. Are there other people who feel this way?
Been to Greece several times but never knew the X represented Christ. Guess old dogs do learn new tricks. Thanks!

What does Santa claus have to do with X-mas and why do you tell your children hes real?

Cone on when I was 6 I knew Santa was not real, but don’t you ever realize that your children are smarter than you think they are? Like have you ever thought they play “stupid” for you? But really not to be rude to Christians but what is the significance of Santa?

my mom loves my comfy velour suits to wear when she lounges around or runs around getting errands. She is in her early 40′s but is young and hip.

What are games coming out holiday season 2011?

Nothing that is a ps3 exclusive. while i have nothing against them i don’t own one. I am starting to make reviews with my friends and we need good games with long story that come out this holiday season i am not talking Easter i am talking Christmas. Seeing as non of the people i am working with have jobs a long campaign is nice so we can stretch it out for as long as possible. Note one of my friends already has battle field 3 preorderd Please no wii it is hard to get good recording quality from the wii. Also i like Shooters,platforms,and real time strategy. I also like sandbox games but if you choose a sandbox game please make shore it has a story line. Also if you choose a pc game nothing over the requirements of star craft 2. Thank you

I was downloading a registry editor and halfway through I decided to cut it off; however Xmarks was already installed so whenever I open my browser something comes up and tells me “click to finish installing Xmarks“. How do I get rid of it?
